There is a stretch coming in the evenings and the Barnacle Geese are plentiful, feasting on the early growth of lush green grass.  What a site to see and hear!

Spring is just around the corner when you see he daffodils up and  the evenings getting longer.    As is customary in Ireland, you can make a St. Brigid’s cross from rushes (supplied).  St. Brigid is the patron saint of crafts, poets, healers, midwives and doctors.  If your name is Brigid, take 10% off your booking.

February

You won’t want to miss the St. Patrick’s Day festivities in Sligo.  This is a great month for the theatre.  Go to the Hawkswell Theatre, Blue Raincoat Theatre, or the Model for lots of entertainment.

March

Time to say goodbye to the geese.  Des will bring you down the fields for some amazing pictures.  Then keep your walking shoes on and take off on any of the nature trails or nearby beaches for the day.  

April

Spring cleaning time – house and body!  Traditionally, the herdsman would gather seaweed to nurture the land.  Nurture yourself at the award winning seaweed baths in Strandhill.  

May

Midsummer's night and bonfires. June is packed with festivals in Sligo –  Rosses' Point Shanty and Seafaring Festival; Temple House festival - and the 150 year anniversary of W.B.Yeats!
